Book Review- The Gecko and the Echo

Illustrated by Jim Field
Goldy was a superstar. Atleast that’s what he thought he was! All day long he would sing, dance and put on a show! All that mattered was himself, his art, his needs! He was a self centered gecko if there was any!
The other geckos finally had it enough and tell him in as many words that he and his talent sucks- big time! Disheartened Goldy leaves in search of a better crowd who would appreciate his talent.
In the vastness of the Grand Canyon he delivers an impressive song only to hear back someone mocking him in a terrible voice!
It takes him some external intervention to understand that it was in fact his own echo and not someone mocking him! And that he isn’t as talented as he thought he was!
Does Goldy realise his folly? Does he start appreciating others and their needs? Does he finally realise that there is more than just himself? Powerful tale of self discovery and incredible message of sending out into the world what we would want to receive.
We love Rachel bright books and most of them have a great message in them. This one has a great message too and we loved the colourful illustrations.
Ideal for kids aged 3+yrs
