Book Review- My Grandmother can't cook!

We all know the classic tale—summer at grandma's house equals a few extra kilos, thanks to her love, pampering, and unbeatable cooking skills. But what if your grandma isn’t about that kitchen life? My grandma disliked cooking. She, on the other hand, was a skilled storyteller, a rebellious playmate, a cheeky companion and the only one brave enough to take on my mother when we were in the red!

The child’s grandmother also dislikes spending any time in the kitchen. A self made woman in her own right, she pursues a variety of interests, none of which involve juggling any masalas! So, when she discovered that it isn't just her granny who is kitchen-averse, it was pure joy!

Neil’s granny isn’t your typical culinary wizard. In fact, her kitchen experiments are more whimsical than edible. But with Neil’s birthday coming up, Granny’s decided to take charge of the entire celebration. The big question is: Will she serve up her famously bizarre dishes to the guests? And will Neil be able to survive the potential birthday embarrassment?

This book had us giggling from start to finish. The lively narrative, paired with bright and playful illustrations, kept us hooked. Plus, the end of the book features a fun page showcasing culinary delights from across India—a perfect excuse to sit down with your grandma and discover her hidden talents (which might just be something other than cooking!).

Perfect for readers aged 3 and up!
