Book Review- Along came a different
By Tom McLaughlin
The Reds love being red. They love their red apples, red hats and red songs. They were living together, a single homogenous group in absolute bliss. What happens when someone different enters?
Enter the yellows who love being yellow and dislike the reds. Enter the blues who hate both the reds and yellows. They get into silly fights, draw boundaries where the others can’t enter and even make silly rules for all to follow. Things stay peaceful for sometime.
But then enter some more different colours, and then a really different different- a multi-hued star who appreciates the others and the rules don’t seem to work anymore. They realise that being different is the best thing ever. Friendship and harmony prevails.
Brilliant and simple picture book about acceptance. We loved the crisp, colourful illustrations. Loved the list of silly rules that had us rofl.
Ideal for 3+yrs
